The eVisa Check Guidelines

An eVisa is issued by the UK Home Office to immigrants legally residing in the UK, providing a digital record of immigration status that is accessible online. With the eVisa Check, CitizenCard verifies applicants' identities by accessing their UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) records. Applicants simply sign in to their UKVI account and generate a unique share code, allowing CitizenCard to confirm their identity as part of the application process.

To use the eVisa Check, you must:

  • be an immigrant with a legal right to reside in the UK
  • have a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account with your immigration status recorded online
  • be able to generate a share code for your eVisa at gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status and provide it to us when prompted for verification

When generating the share code, select "To prove my immigration status for anything else" when asked, "Why do you need a share code?". Please note, the share code must begin with the letter "S".

Applications will be rejected if the applicant is scheduled for deportation from the UK, holds an expired eVisa, submits a photo that doesn't match their eVisa likeness or provides the share code associated with someone else's eVisa information.

The eVisa Check offers a fast and efficient method to verify identity for eligible applicants. Using the share code provided, we will validate your eVisa details to confirm your name, date of birth and likeness.
